The procedure for vessels to call at the port has been clarified, the requirements for recreational vessels sailing in the port water area have been simplified – these and other changes have been introduced in the new Klaipėda State Seaport Shipping Rules.
The Klaipėda State Seaport Shipping Rules lay down the procedure and requirements for vessels entering the Klaipėda State Seaport, mooring, berthing and raids, navigating in the port water area, and departing from the port.
In order to systematise and reduce the amount of information to be provided, the Rules have been amended to include provisions on the provision of advance information before a ship enters the Klaipėda State Seaport.
The amendments remove additional requirements for ships carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) and requirements for towing ships and regulate LNG supply operations.
The requirements for recreational vessels operating in the port area have also been simplified by removing the redundant requirements for a radio station and a port sea chart.
