GOAL
MOVEO is a project funded by the European Union to create an intelligent, inclusive and integrated system of transport infrastructure and mobility services based on advanced digital technologies.
The main objectives of MOVEO are:
- Improve the management and efficiency of transport infrastructure.
- Ensure safety, accessibility and inclusion for all users.
- Promote multimodality (coordinated use of road transport modes).
- Reduce emissions and promote sustainable logistics and mobility.
- Use digitalisation, infrastructure condition monitoring and smart solutions for logistics.
Klaipėda port activities
In this project, the Port of Klaipėda will contribute to the acquisition and installation of advanced technologies to improve ship navigation at the port gates: the system will be able to forecast wave height, wind direction and strength, and water level.
The Port of Klaipėda will purchase the equipment (sensors) and the project partners will develop a platform to collect data from the sensors for further analysis.
This system will allow for real-time adjustments in logistics planning and optimisation of freight and transport flows.
Funding
The MOVEO framework and its solutions will be validated through 5 demonstrators located in Switzerland, Italy, France, and Lithuania. These demonstrators cover different infrastructure types, climate conditions, and life cycle stages.
MOVEO brings together the expertise of 16 partners from 9 European countries.
The project budget is €5,735,250. The EU part-financing is EUR 4 998 495. The project budget of the Klaipėda State Seaport Authority is €395,600 and the EU contribution is €276,920.
The project duration is 36 months (3 years).
