Work group regarding expediency, lawfulness, financial benefits (feasibility) and results achieved due to actions performed by Klaipeda State Seaport Authority was set up

On 21 October 2009 by Order of Director General Eugenijus Gentvilas a work group was set up in order to present conclusions regarding expediency, lawfulness, financial benefits (feasibility) and results achieved due to actions performed by SE KSSA in the course of undersigning and performance Contracting agreement No. 34-2007-611 between Seaport Authority and UAB “Klaipėdos hidrotechnika“, dated 14-12-2007.
On 14 December Contracting agreement No. 34-2007-611 on performance of dredging works pursuant to the presented technical project and technical task “DREDGING OF KLAIPĖDA STATE SEAPORT AUTHORITY ENTRANCE CHANNEL FROM PK – 17 TO PK 28 (I AND II STAGES OF WORKS)” was undersigned between the Seaport Authority and UAB “Klaipėdos hidrotechnika“. Duration of works under the agreement – 270 calendar days. Value of the agreement – 53 999 633,30 LTL.
Director of Seaport Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas set up a work group in view of the fact that duration of dredging works started on the basis of the abovementioned agreement twice exceeded the contractual term, and SE KSSA expenses also were higher than estimated.
The work group will analyse all documents relevant to the circumstances of undersigning of this agreement and its further performance (additional agreements, statements on suspension of works, delivery and acceptance certificates, payment documents, correspondence, etc.); by 30-11-2009 the group will present intermediate, and by 11-12-2009 – final conclusions regarding expediency, lawfulness, financial benefits (feasibility) and results achieved due to actions performed by SE KSSA in the course of undersigning and performance of the abovementioned agreement.
