On 8 May 2006 the seminar presentation of the Baltic Sea Region Interreg III B Program Project “Baltic Tangent” will take place at the Klaipeda Hotel, Naujojo Sodo g. 1, Klaipėda.
The Project aims at development of strategy, action plan and partnership instruments for development of the international transport network infrastructure. This network will contribute to the development of transnational transport corridors from Denmark/Southern Sweden via the Baltic Sea, Lithuania, Latvia, Southern Estonia and Pskov, Russia, and will expand Trans-European transport network (TEN-T) in Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
Project partners and seminar organizers: Valga County Development Agency (Estonia), Kaunas City Municipality.
Seminar will include the following topics:
· New developments in the transport policy of the European Union.
· New challenges in the economic and regional policies of the Baltic States.
· Development concept, progress, conclusions and further development prospects of the project “Baltic Tangent”.
After the seminar the participants will be offered a sightseeing trip to the water area of Klaipėda Seaport where the potential and prospects of the port will be presented.
