Representatives of the US Coast Guard and the European Commission visited Klaipėda port

 

On 24 February, 2010 representatives of the US Coast Guard and the European Commission visited Klaipėda port. The aim of the visit  – to inspect terminals of UAB „Krovinių terminalas“ and stevedoring company „Klaipėdos Smeltė“.

 

Representatives of the US Coast Guard visited Klaipėda port in November 2007, and in March 2009 Klaipėda State Seaport Security plan (prepared by the USA company „Science Applications International Corporation“) was approved and new security plans of  the port terminals were prepared.

 

Klaipėda State Seaport Security plan contains approved range of coordinated actions of port controlling state authorities and a set of measures aimed at preventing potential or existing  threats in the sea port: outer harbour, port waters, port land territory, air space above Klaipėda port and other zones  related with security of the port.

 

On 24 February, 2010 representatives of the US Coast Guard and the European Commission visited Klaipėda port with the aim to inspect terminals of UAB „Krovinių terminalas“ and stevedoring company „Klaipėdos Smeltė“.
