Representative of Port Authority participated in the meeting on forming the Oversize Lithuanian Transport Development Strategy Group

On the 29th October, 2009 the meeting on forming the Oversize Lithuanian Transport Development Strategy Group was held in the premises of Klaipeda Science and Terhnology Park, the specialist on statistics of the Marketing Department of Klaipeda Port Authority Kestutis Voveris was among the participants of this meeting.
Under the initiative of Klaipeda Science and Technology Park the Oversize Lithuanian Transport Development Strategy Group is formed in the framework of the Project „ Oversize Baltic“. This group should create the Lithuanian oversize transport strategy.
The key goal of the group is to ensure the relevance, expediency, functionality and application of the formed strategy with reference to legislation and infrastructure possibilities of the Republic of Lithuania and EU
This group should comprise representatives from related State institutions, research institutions and concerned business structures. The composition, competence and authorisation of the group will be evaluated and approved by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Director for Marketing Arturas Drungilas will be delegated to that group on the part of Port Authority.
The goal of the international project „Oversize Baltic“ approved on the 5th of June, 2009 in the frame of the program INTERREG IV is to enhance the efficiency and safety of oversize transportation. The Project was promoted and is implemented by Klaipeda Science and Technology Park in cooperation with 8 partners, including Port Authority.
