Representative of Port Authority participated at the 36th session of Facilitation Committee of International Maritime Organization

On the 6-10 of September, 2010 the head of Port Dispatchers’ Office Aleksandras Kaupas participated at the 36thsession of Facilitation Committee of International Maritime Organization (IMO) held at IMO headquarters in London ( United Kingdom).
Organizational issues of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and issues related to electronic means for the clearance of ships, facilitation of marine business, cooperation amongst Member States, the use of the Single Window Concept, prevention and suppression of illegal actions on board and at sea of shipboard personnel, stowaways, illegal migrants, persons rescued at sea and promotion and security of international business were on discussion during this session. In line facilitation of dangerous cargo transportation, information related to port security, technical co-operation and support issues were considered.
