Preparatory Meeting of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe

      On the 4-5th of April, 2011  the second Preparatory Meeting of the 19th Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Economic and Environmental Forum was hosted by Druskininkai (in „ Grand SPA Lietuva“ hotel). Economics and Finance Director Martynas Armonaitis, Director to Šventoji Port Airida Česnienė and the head of the Planning Department Audinga Jokubauskiene were among the participants of this event.

       Lithuania will exercise the function of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe  Chairmanship in 2011. The activity of OSCE encompassespolitico-military, economic and environmental, and  human aspects. One of the economy themes selected by Lithuania in the frame of its chairmanship is the sustainable transport development. This theme is under consideration and analysis in the aforementioned second Preparatory Conference of the 19th Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Economic and Environmental Forum. Analysed issues are related to promotion of environmentally friendly transport modes, development of modern transport technologies, development of green and multimodal transport corridors, facilitation of customs procedures and implementation of updated technology in the mentioned spheres.
