Meeting of experts in Odessa (the Ukraine) on the issues of combined transportation train „Viking“

                 In March 4-5 2008 in Odessa (the Ukraine) there took place the meeting of experts on the issues of combined transportation train „Viking“ where the Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Arvydas Vaitkus and the delegation including Marketing Director of SE Klaipėda State Seaport Authority Arturas Drungilas took part.
 
                For the fifth time already combined transportations train „Viking“ – is a successful Project of Lithuania, Belarus, the Ukrainian railways, stevedoring companies and the ports of Klaipėda and Ilyiciovsk. Cargo from the Baltic and Nordic states via Klaipėda port is transported to Belarus and the Ukraine.
 
                The goal of the meeting was to discuss transportation tariffs and conditions in the separate parts of the „Viking“ route and the possibilities to shorten and simplify  customs and other procedures as there appears down – time in the ports of the Ukraine. 
 
                During the meeting a Protocol was signed by which all the three parties are going to take measures in order to decrease down-time of the  train „Viking“  and solve the problem of the lack of railway platforms.
