INVITATION FOR THE MEDIA

Biggest cruise liner Constellation is coming to the port of Klaipėda on the 1st June 2005.

Length of the ship reaches 294 metres, its width is 32,3 metres and its draught 8 metres. It is the first visit of Constellation out of the three registered ones in the season of the year 2005. Other visits are planned for 29 June and 24 August. The ship, which belongs to one of the biggest cruise operators Celebrity Cruise Line (USA),  is the seventh liner in terms of its size in the world. 

Grand meeting of the vessel is going to be held on the occasion of coming of this cruise liner on the 1st June 2005 at 9.30 am to celebrate an extraordinary event in the history of the port of Klaipėda and Klaipėda city. Particular concert is going to be given to the tourists ant guests of the town. Honourable officers of official institutions from authorities concerned with cruise shipping and tourism, ambassadors, heads of the companies, port operators, associations as  well as representatives of tourism sector of the town are going to take part in the ceremony. After the ceremony the guests, invited by the captain, shall visit the cruise liner Constellation.

 

On the occasion of the ship’s coming, Ethno Cultural Centre will organise handicraftsmen sale at the sailboat Meridianas. Such kind of sale is going to be organised each time the liner Constellation comes.

  

SE Klaipėda State Seaport Authority kindly invites media people to attend the grand meeting of the cruise liner Constellation, which will take part  1 June 2005 (Wednesday) at 9.30 am in the territory of SC Klaipėdos laivų remontas at the cruise terminal.

Registration is scheduled until 30 May 2005 12.00 am (according to the ISPS Code, which is applied in the port of Klaipėda, persons wishing to visit the liner are to submit personal data as well as to have personal identification document when coming to the berth of the cruise terminal. 30 places are reserved for media people.)

 

P.S Entrance to the cruise terminal is either through the small bridge or through the main entrance to the territory of SC Klaipėdos Laivų Remontas. (It is allowed to park transport means only in the territory of SC Klaipėdos laivų remontas. It is prohibited to park cars at the access to the cruise terminal).
