Incident in port waters at yachting club

On the 19th of March 2009 (on Thursday) at 6.50 a.m. the port dispatcher’s Office received a notice that a pleasure boat berthing in port waters at the yachting club Jūrų liūtas (length 16 m, beam 4 m, draft 1,5 m), belonging to  „UAB Grasnė“, was sinking due to the water filling the ship and the ship had dangerously heeled over.
 
Port dispatcher’s Office informed about the incident the officers of Emergency situations management centre immediately. 
 
In order to prevent oil spill pollution the above-mentioned ship was surrounded with booms.
