Financing for international project „SMOCS“ approved

In September 15-16 2009 in Oslo (Norway) there took place Monitoring Committee meeting of the Baltic Sea region program 2007-2013, during which the financing of international project „SMOCS“was approved within INTERREG IV program. Port Authority is participating as a partner there.
 
The goal of INTERREG IV program international project „SMOCS“ (Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sediments in the Baltic Sea – is to determine the latest management methods of contaminated soil in order to mitigate seabed and water pollution, ensure greater maritime bio-variety, and decrease the quantities of hazardous materials in fish organisms. These novelties will correspond HELCOM Baltic Sea Activity Plan.
