Creative contest for journalists

nuotrLithuanian Journalists` Union together with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania launches a contest for the best analytical work (publication in press, e-media, TV and radio broadcast/story).
The aim of the contest is to induce public discussions in media about the present situation, development, modernization, perspectives etc., in transport, post and e-communications sectors.
 
 
Topics of journalists` works
 
 
The topics of the contest – are all fields of transport, post and e-communications sectors. Special focus may be put on the changes of transport infrastructure: development of road, railway, water and air transport, innovations in post and e-communications sectors. The goal of the contest is to give publicity to the problems of the integration of Lithuanian transport, post and e-communications infrastructure into European system and the impact of the integration on national economy.  The other important aspect is – the change of attitude towards Lithuania as a transit state after integration of Lithuania into EU.
 
Contest conditions
 
  • The journalists who have prepared and published articles in central and regional press, e-media or created TV/radio broadcast, stories shown on TV or radio broadcasts with given theme are able to take part in the contest;
  • The creative works can be submitted in seven categories:
 
    1. Roads and road transport;
    2. Railway transport;
    3. Water transport;
    4. Air transport;
    5. Post;
    6. E-communications;
    7. Development of Lithuanian transport infrastructure: integration into EU environment.
 
  • The creative works complying with the given topics are to be submitted by 1st December 2006. The works are to be submitted by e-mail to Lithuanian Journalists` Union (lina@nulllzs.lt) or in sealed envelope by the address: Teatro street 8, LT-03107 Vilnius, for the Contest “Communication policy: opportunities and challenges” (indicating one of the 7 categories).
  • Ach author may submit no more than three pieces of creative work (the cycle of essays or stories will be evaluated as one work).
  • Valuation Commission made of professional journalists and experts of communication sector will select laureates in each of the seven indicated categories.
  • Valuation criteria: relevancy of the published information and social significance, use of information sources, originality of work and creativity.
  • Laureates will be awarded diplomas and prises (price bounty).
  • The Nominees will be announced in December.
