On 26 November, 2010, at 16:00 p.m., the commemoration event coinciding with the 5th anniversary of Klaipeda Seafarer’s Centre operation was held at the Seafarers’ Centre (Agluonos g. 5, Klaipeda).
At the end of 2005, a modern Seafarers’ Centre opened its welcoming doors, which had been constructed, to a large extent, through funding of the Seafarers Trust of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF).
This was an important contribution and aid to the establishment of the service facility for the Lithuanian and foreign seafarers at Klaipeda Seaport. This centre is a gift by the international maritime community to seafarers, Klaipeda and entire Lithuania.
Over the five years of its operation, the Klaipeda Seafarers’ Centre has turned into a significant focus of the Lithuanian maritime culture.
