A Business Mission of the Dutch „New Market Advisory“ Company and its Partners in the Port of Klaipeda

 

The main goals of the business mission‘s participants is to get acquainted with Lithuania as a country for potential investment, to collect information about the economic situation, business climate and opportunities for international co-operation and investment. Most of all, the delegation members are interested in transport, logistics and distribution sectors, also – in construction, project development and tourism.

 

Primary activities of the delegation members are related directly or indirectly to transport and logistics, thus they are particularly interested in the port of Klaipeda, its infrastructure and logistics, companies working in the port and the port‘s capacity as well as development opportunities.

 

On October 5-9, 2008, the Dutch „New Market Advisory“ company together with partner organizations in Lithuania are setting up a business mission of the Dutch Ijmond region (a province in Northern Holland) in Lithuania. Events of the mission‘s program are planned to take place  in Klaipeda and Vilnius. There are 24 representatives of private and public sectors in the delegation lead by the Northern Holland province‘s vice-senator Jaap Bond.

 

On October 6, 2008 (Monday), a few meetings are scheduled. The members of the delegation will meet with the Head of Klaipeda region, Klaipeda‘s Mayor. They will also visit JSC „Klaipėdos Stevedoring Company“ (KLASCO) and one of Klaipeda‘s furniture producing companies.

 

During the visit, the guests will be invited for a boat trip to see the Port Authority‘s infrastructure imporvement and development plans in action. They will also have a chance to discuss relevant co-operation questions.
