DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE PORT IS A NEW PERSPECTIVE FOR LITHUANIAN INDUSTRY AND EXPORTS
The aim of the development of the southern port is to allow for the expansion of cargo handling terminals with the possibility to provide additional value-added services and accommodate BALTMAX vessels of maximum parameters, i.e. eventually up to 490 m in length, up to 70 m in with, and up to 15.5 m in draft.

Parameters of the new port
A new container terminal will be built on a newly created 100 ha area and marine engineering industry activities will be carried out. The Southern Marina, i.e. a small and recreational craft harbour, is also planned as an important contribution to the city’s infrastructure development.
