We inform you that the final report on A Guide to Oversize Cargo Transportation via Klaipėda Port prepared by Navigation Department of Klaipėda University has been already submitted.
A Guide to Oversize Cargo Transportation via Klaipėda Port(hereinafter – the Guide)was prepared by Navigation Department of Klaipėda University pursuant to the terms of the Contract with Port Authority dated by the 23d of September, 2010. This Quide was prepared in the framework of implementation of the project „ Oversize Baltic“. The preparation period of the Quide stipulated in the Contract terms covered 6 month. At the beginning of March of this year the project of the aforementioned final report was presented at the meeting of Klaipėda State Seaport Authority Board.
The Guide submitted in the final report on Oversize Cargo Transportation via Klaipėda Port was prepared on the grounds of the generalised and amended material collected in the previous reports. The purpose of the Guide is to facilitate and induce oversize cargo transportation via Klaipėda Port, to enhance cooperation of different subjects.
The Project „ Oversize Baltic“ is targeted to the enhancement of the efficiency and strengthening of the safety of oversize cargo transportation in the region of the South Baltic. Nine partners are involved in the implementation of this project: Klaipėda Science and Technology Park, SE Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, NPPE Klaipėda Shipping Research Centre, Federal Association of SME‘s (Rostok, Germany), Vismar University of Technology, Business and Design ( Germany), Bleking Institute of Technology ( Sweden), Port of Karlshamn (Sweden), Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), the Swedish Road Administration ( Swededn). Besides, the Project introduces 16 associated partners.
The main objective of the Project is to improve transportation conditions of oversize cargo in the South Baltic region seeking to attract transit flows, to expand industrial development zones and to optimise conditions for implementation of infrastructure projects.
