Review of Cargo Handling in Klaipeda Seaport, at Butingės Terminal and Other Eastern Coast Baltic Seaports

Within the period of January – February of 2016 Klaipeda Seaport cargo handling turnover increased by 7,8 pct. to  6,51 mln. tn, i.e. more by 471,7 thou. tn comparing with the corresponding period of 2015.

According to the rankings of the change of cargo throughput estimated in percent (7,8 pct) and in tons (471,7 thou. tn) the Seaport of Klaipeda occupied the 2-nd standing in the list of the Eastern coast Baltic Seaports.

Year-on-year changes of overall turnover according to cargo types:

• General cargo – 1 885,3  thou. tn were handled, +4,1 pct. or +74,7 thou. tn yoy;
• Liquid cargo – 2 057,8 thou. tn were handled, +21,9 pct. or +370,1 thou. tn yoy;
• Dry and bulk cargo – 2 566,3 thou. tn were handled, +1,1 pct. or +26,9 thou. tn yoy.
