Heads of Germany‘s Bremen and Bremerhaven ports (BREMENPORTS) visited Klaipėda port

On 23 June 2010, the Heads of Germany‘s Bremen and Bremerhaven ports (BREMENPORTS) visited the Klaipėda Seaport Authority. The aim of the visit was to familiarize with development of the Klaipėda Seaport and cooperation possibilities.  
 
The guests were welcomed at the Seaport Authority by Director General of the Seaport Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas, Infrastructure and Development Director Vidas Karolis and Economics and Finance Director Martynas Armonaitis and were introduced to the Klaipėda Seaport activities, economic indicators of the port performance, ongoing projects of port development, possibilities and capacities, activities and specifics of the handling companies operating within the port, logistic questions, business climate and cooperation possibilities and prospects.
 
During the visit in Klaipėda, the representatives of the delegation of Bremen and Bremerhaven portswere taken on to a sightseeing trip on boat in the waters of the port. During the trip, the guests were accompanied by the representatives of Klaipėda Stevedoring Company “KLASCO“ PLC and Klaipėda Passenger and Cargo Terminal” PLC, who introduced the guest to the activity, capacities and terminal specifics of their companies as well as development opportunities.
 
The delegation also visited the port companies Joint-stock stevedoring company “Smeltė“ and “Klaipėda Container Terminal Ltd., where the guests were introduced to the present activity of the aforementioned companies.
