CARGO HANDLING IN KLAIPĖDA PORT
April of 2012
2,93 mln. tn of sea – born cargo, i.e. more by 20,3 thou. tn or by 0,7 percent if to compare with the corresponding period of 2011 was handled in Klaipėda Port in April of 2012. 604,2 thou. tn of oil were imported via Būtinges Terminal in April of the current year.

According to cargo groups in April
Liquid cargoes increased by +7,8 pct., totally 947,7 thou. tn were handled
Dry and bulk cargoes decreased by +2,5 pct., totally 1 096,5 thou. tn were handled.
General cargo decreased by -11,5 pct., totally 885,5 thou. tn were handled.
Handling volumes of oil products in April of 2012 amounted 809,4 thou. tn, the year-on-year change is +16,0 pct. or more by 111,6 thou. tn.
The handling turnover of fertilizers in April of 2012 was 803,9thou. tn, i.e. less by -13,9 pct. year-on-yearor by 129,6 thou. tn. The throughput of Ro-Ro cargoin April of 2012 was 393,0 thou. tons of,i.e. less by
-1,3 pct. year-on-yearor by 5,1 thou. tn. Calculating in units 21 634 units of this category of cargo, i.e. less by -0,2 pct. year-on-yearor by 37 units were handled in the Port. Volumes of containerised cargohandling (calculating in TEU) were 29 809 TEU, i.e. less by –22,5 pct. year-on-year or by -8 643 TEU. In terms of tonnage the turnover of containerised cargo handlingmarked a decreaseas well. Calculating in tons the drop rate was-10,3 pct. year-on-yearor -42,4 thou. tn, in total 371,0thou. tn were handled.
Throughout April of this year 24 083 passengers, i.e. more by 6,2 pct. year-on-yearor by 1 430 passengers visited Klaipėda Port.
571 vessels, i.e. less by -2,6 pct. year-on-year or by 15 vessels were reported to enter the Port of Klaipėda in April of 2012.
