The 2nd of September, 2010 was the last day of free roundtrip – information providing excursion cycle „DiscoverKlaipėdaPort“ organized by KlaipedaState Seaport Authority. Totally 39 excursions on board of the ship „Venus“ were organized this year and nearly 8000 Klaipeda citizens and town quests got acquainted with Klaipėda Port activity.
We would like to express our gratitude to everybody that showed interest in this extremely popular action organized by Port Authority „Discover Klaipėda Port “, the key goal of which was to present directly and visually Klaipėda Port activity, possibilities and perspectives, to reveal economic – social advantages provided by marine industry, particularity work and activity performed by marine communities, to increase the access to port territories to society, to contribute to the consolidation of Klaipėda inhabitants and marine community. Proliferation of information on port helps to create the image of Klaipėda Port and Lithuania as a marine state and executes the society educative function.
The mentioned public relation action designated to Klaipėda citizens and quests of the town has been organized consecutively for the third year. Due to this remarkable idea Klaipėda Port supports the proposal of European Commission to organize the days of open doors in ports, in such a way providing information on port activity to broad society layers.
This public relation action „ Discover Klaipėda Port“ was launched on the 19th of July of this year and finished on the 2nd of September. Totally 39 excursions on board of the ship „Venus“ were organized this year and nearly 8000 Klaipeda citizens and town quests got acquainted with Klaipėda Port activity (in 2009 this number was approximately 2000 people). It was calculated that Port Authority while organizing this educative action allocated 2,5 Litas per person participating in this action designated to present Port activity.
During this educative – providing information 1 hour excursion round Klaipėda Port water territory on board of the ship „Venus“ Klaipėda citizens and quests were provided the possibility to observe the Port terminals and to listen to guide‘s presentation of the Port. Quests that participated in the action were granted the Port Expert Diploma and those that gave right answers to guide‘s questions received certain souvenirs.
