The Port Authority has already acquired the new gauging and buoy (hydrographic survey) vessel
On the 21st of May, 2013 the handover-takeover certificate was signed at the Port Authority. The Port Authority took over the a-new built gauging and buoy vessel „Lotas“. The price of this vessel was 6 530 000.00 Lt.
The gauging and buoy vessel „Lotas“ was constructed by the Estonian shipyard Baltic Workboats AS pursuant to the contract agreement as of the 7th of October 2011.
Particulars about the company: http://www.balticworkboats.ee/.
Presently the Port Authority owns 8 vessels: 3 pilot boats, 1 rescue boat, 2 diving boats, 1 tug (rented) and 2 hydrographic survey vessels – „Rusnė“ and the new one – „Lotas“.
The necessity to acquire the second hydrographic survey vessel occurred due to considerable depreciation of the present hydrographic survey vessel „Rusne“. The engine and the hull of the vessel are very old, and the vessel was built in 1981 (it was constructed as a roadstead tug, but in 1996 transformed into a hydrographic survey vessel).
The new gauging and buoy vessel is more sophisticated and with best gauging possibilities.
Technical data of vessel „Lotas“:
Length- 23.2 metres;
Beam – 6 metres;
Draught – 1.17 metres;
Weight – 109 tons.
