The awards to marine business companies for their merits to Lithuanian marine industry founded four years ago have become an important phenomenon.

On the 31^st of January 2004 already the fourth prize bestowing ceremony took place where the brightest stars of marine business, sea folk and the media representatives were honoured. Founders of the awards have already been seeking to commend the achievements of companies and people working in the marine and port business, their input in the national economy and strengthening of the image of Lithuania as a marine state.
