Dear colleagues journalists,

 

The State Enterprise Klaipėda State Seaport Authority has the pleasure to invite you to the press-conference dedicated to the visit of Euro-Parliament members in Lithuania. The press-conference will take place at 12.00, 5th of May in the conference hall of hotel „Navalis“ (Herkaus Manto street 23), Klaipėda.

 

The Minister of Communication of Lithuania Petras Čėsna, Chairman of the Transport and Tourism committee of Euro-Parliament Paolo Costa and the member of Euro-Parliament Arūnas Degutis will attend the conference.

 

On 4-5th of April delegation of the Euro-Parliament Transport and Tourism committee members will visit Lithuania for the first time. The aims of the delegation – get acquainted with the transport system of Lithuania, to analyse the need for investments in transport sector, transit potential, peculiarities of Kaliningrad Region neighbourhood. The guests will visit Palanga, Klaipėda State Sea Port and will get acquainted with the potential of marine transport and opportunities for the port activities.

 

The visit of Euro-Parliament members will start in Palanga where they will be presented with the most topical projects of Lithuanian transport system development. The focal point of presentation will be the European-gauge railway project „Rail Baltica“ and its financing from the EU funds.

 

The contacts established in Lithuania and relations with influential EU Parliament members will contribute to ensuring real support to our country in solving important issues of our transport system development.

 

The representatives of four political fractions of European Parliament are among 14 members of the delegation: members of Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, the Greens/European Free Alliance, Socialists in European Parliament, Independence and Democracy Group and members of Parliament that do not belong to any group.
