Sea Transport Employees of Merit Will Be Acknowledged

Awards will be presented in Klaipeda on 22 July this year at the Cruise and Warship Terminal during the Sea Festival.  The awards will be presented by Arvydas Vaitkus, Secretary of Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, on behalf of the Minister.

 

Minister of Ministry of Transport and Communications Algirdas Butkevičius signed an order on award with the plaque of the sea transport employee of the Republic of Lithuania to a group of distinguished sea transport employees.

 

The persons for awards were selected with regard to proposals of the ad hoc commission.   

 

Ten persons will be awarded with the Sea Transport Employee’s Plaque of Honour of the Republic of Lithuania for honest work, high culture of maritime shipping, advocacy of national navigation traditions and promotion of Lithuanian prestige in the international shipping area.

 

Specialists of the public company “DFDS LISCO”, joint stock stevedoring company “Klaipėdos Smeltė” and Lithuanian Seamen Union LISCO department will be awarded for great contribution to the development of the sea transport sector.

 

Employees of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration and Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre will be awarded with the Sea Transport Employee’s Plaque of Honour of the Republic of Lithuania for a longstanding and impeccable work.  

 

The tradition to award the most distinguished representatives of the country’s maritime companies with the Sea Transport Employee’s Plaque of Honour of the Republic of Lithuania during the Sea Festival in Klaipeda goes back to 2003.
