The amount of collected pollutants

After the accident at aprox. 7:30 A.M on the 21st of January 2008, when the Port Dispatcher‘s office received a notice from the Dutch ship „Heron“, that nearby the quay No. 118, which is operated by UAB „Klaipedos hidrotechnika“, a spill of liquid occurred due to the ship‘s crew fault while transferring diesel fuel from one tank to another on board of the above vessel, the spill clean-up operations have been initiated immediately.
According to the information of UAB „Klaipedos keleiviu ir kroviniu terminalas“, their vessel „SANITARAS 13“ carried the spill clean-up works at quays No. 116-118 on the day of accident (21-01-2008) from 11:00 A.M to 5.00 P.M and cleaned-up the following amount of pollutants from the surface of port waters: 0,950 m3 oil products, 23 m3 emulsion and 1 m3 oil-polluted waste.
The other vessel of the above company „FLORA“ took aboard 2 m3 water-diesel mixture containing 40 % of oil products from folding container in the fleet base.
At present the vessel „SANITARAS 13“ is still collecting slick of spilt diesel fuel that is washed out from the quays.
