On the 25th of July 2008 (on Friday) in the Clock Museum yard (Liepų str. 12) during the Captains` Party that was one of the events of the Sea Festival the most prominent seafarers and transport people were awarded with the honorary insignia of maritime transport of the Republic of Lithuania.
With the honorary insignia that was founded by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania in 2003 are awarded the most prominent seafarers and maritime transport people and the most significant representatives of maritime community for many-year work high navigation culture, propagation of national shipping traditions and raising the prestige in international shipping.
Traditionally the honorary insignia of maritime transport of the Republic of Lithuania is awarded during the Captains` Party. Up till now 77 merited transport people are awarded with this insignia. During the Captains` Party of this year the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevicius awarded those representatives of maritime transport sector:

AB „Lietuvos jūrų laivininkystė“ captain Vladimir Šendrik;
