On September 25-26, 2008, a meeting of the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) esperts will be held in Copenhagen (Denmark). The head of the Port‘s Dispatcher Office Aleksandras Kaupas will participate in it as well.
For thirty years the HELCOM works to preserve the Baltic Sea‘s environment against any kind of pollution through inter-governmental co-operation between Denmark, Estonia, the EU, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden. The future vision of this commission is a clean Baltic Sea with preserved biological components leading to a balanced ecosystem, sustained economic and social activities.
