A Conference: „Port Security: Identify Risks and Mitigate Threats“

On October 1-2, 2008, in Barcelona (Spain), a conference „Port Security: Identify Risks and Mitigate Threatswill take place. The Port Authority‘s Director for General Affairs Algirdas Pranciškus Dulkė will participate in the conference.

 

This conference is aimed at the port security experts who are interested in what sort of security issues port specialists have to face, what solutions are there to these issues, what new integrated technology can be applied to optimize the whole port‘s security chain. Ways to improve co-operation between ports‘ authorities, ports‘ operators, the private sector, customs and legislative bodies will be discussed during the conference as well.

 

During the event, the major questions will be discussed as follows: integration of commercial and security means, main questions of the port security (including threat of possible terrorism and the issue of piracy), the most modern means for monitoring, verification and security as well as the efficiency of the implemented ISPS code.
