Incident in the port territory on Quay No. 66

On 5 August 2009 (Wednesday) at 15:55 PM a notice was received that an object reminding an explosive device had been found in the port territory on Quay No. 66, which is operated by Klaipeda Stevedoring company “Bega“ Ltd. while performing earthworks.
On 5 August 2009 at 15:55 PM a notice was received by the Dispatcher Office of SE Klaipėda State Seaport Authority that an object reminding of an explosive device had been found in port territory on quay No. 66 which is operated by Klaipeda Stevedoring company “Bega“ Ltd. while performing earthworks.
Having received the above message the port’s Dispatcher office immediately notified sappers of the Naval Force of the Armed Forces of Lithuania about the incident.
Earthworks performed by “Hidrostatyba“Ltd. are suspended. There is no threat to enviroment or any persons.
