Attestation rules for companies that render agency services were changed

Order Nr. 3-298 regarding “amendment of order No. 3-168 by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania „Regarding approval of attestation rules for companies that render agency services”, dated 19 April 2004 “ of the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Eligijus Masiulis came into force on 1 August 2009.
By the present order the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Eligijus Masiulis approved amendment of procedure of application of port dues, stipulating that companies which render agency services shall submit to SE Klaipėda State Seaport Authority a guarantee in amount of 200 000 LTL, issued by a bank registered in the Republic of Lithuania or a guarantee insurance issued by an insurance company. The abovementioned order also provides that after one year after the attestation, agency companies may lose bank guarantees, and they are obliged to pay 110% of preliminary calculated port dues for a particular ship until ship’s departure.
New order of applying port dues that came into force on 1 August 2009 is more flexible and attractive to companies which render ship agency services.
