Director General of Port Authority took part in international Lithuanian-Belarus economic forum

In September 16 2009 in Vilnius LITEXPO exhibition centre (Laisvės av. 5) there took place the international Lithuanian-Belarus economic forum „Belarus and the Baltic States: new cooperation development opportunities“ and Director General of the Port Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas took part in it.
The origin of international Lithuanian-Belarus economic forum reaches 2005, when Lithuanian confederation of industrialists together with Belarus Diplomatic Embassy in Lithuania and Belarus confederation of industrialists and businessmen organized the forum the same year in Klaipeda to discuss transit, logistics, and industry and tourism matters.
The above forum is being organized annually and it undoubtedly has enlivened trade relations and made a significant impact in increasing bilateral trade and investment volumes.
When Belarus was included into EU Eastern neighbourhood program it was decided to expand the concept of this event, therefore, this year the annual Lithuanian-Belarus economic forum has become an international event which attracted more than 200 participants from more than 10 countries.
