The amendments to Regulations on application of Klaipėda State Seaport dues which came into force in March 2010 continue having positive impact on development of Klaipėda port shipping lines.
These amendments to Regulations on application of dues resulted into opening of yet another ro-ro line in the Klaipėda Seaport.
Authorized agent of the new ro-ro line Amsterdam (Holland) – Bremerhaven (Germany) – Gothenburg (Sweden) – Klaipėda (Lithuania) – Le Havre (France) – Puerto Cabello (Venezuela) – Fort-de-France (Martinique) – Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) – Veracruz (Mexico) – Kingston (Jamaica) – Jacksonville (USA) – Baltimore (USA) is UAB “Klaipėdos Translit“, and the operator of the line – UAB “Maritime Transport and Agency“.
The first ship of this ro-ro line “Hoegh Trotter“ called at the port of Klaipėda on early morning of the 23 April 2010 and at 7:30 was moored at the quay No. 143, operated by UAB “Klaipeda Container Terminal“. Ro-ro ship “Hoegh Trotter“ loaded with wheeled machinery left the Klaipėda port at around 15:00.
