The contract agreement on construction of quay No. 143a and seashore protection in Malku Bay was signed

 

The envelopes containing offers on opened tender on construction of this object were opened on the 21^st of June, 2010. Seven offers to construct quay No.143 at the territory rented by JSC Klaipeda Container Terminal were submitted for this tender. One of them was submitted by the only independently participating in the tender Lithuanian company and the remaining offers were submitted either by  consortiums with undertakings from other countries or by pure foreign companies from Germany, Poland, Latvia, Estonia and Russia.

 

On the 5 of August, 2010,a preliminary ranking of tenderswas produced:

the I place – AB „BMGS“, acting under joint activity agreement with JSC „ Hidrostatyba“, the price of the offer was 16 314 477,13 Lt including VAT.

the II place – Josef Mobius Bau-Aktiengesellschaft, the price of the offer was 17 061 835,10 Lt including VAT.

the III place – AS „Merko Ehitus“, acting under joint activity agreement with JSC „ Getelit“, the price of the offer was 18 900 785,41 Lt including VAT.

the IV place – Hydrobudowa Gdansk, acting under joint activity agreement with JSC „ Kelių remonto grupė“ and JCs „ Garant“, the price of the offer was   22 680 872,37 Lt including VAT

the V place – SC „Latvijas tilti“, the price of the offer was 25 397 800,19 Lt including VAT.

 

These procurement procedures were appealed by the company that submitted the lowest price RJCS „Lokys“, but its offer was rejected as not complying to the requirements of the open tender. After the case hearing at Klaipėda district court of primary jurisdiction the lawsuit was rejected.

Port Authority proceeded with the public procurement and on the 22nd of December (Wednesday) 2010 signed the contract agreement with JC „ BMGS“ on the construction works of the object „ Construction of quay No.143a and seashore protection in Malku Bay“ III construction stage – construction of the remaining part of quay No.143a; IV construction stage –   seashore protection in Malkų Bay“ . The price of this agreement reaches up to 16 314 477,13 Lt including VAT. The duration of contract works is 12 month from the date of contract signature.

„ If not for the claims of a plaintiff this vitally important to port contract agreement could be signed already in August of this year“ said director general Eugenijus Gentvilas.

The length of the quay No. 143a will reach up to 290 metres and the water depth at it will be 10 metres. This quay will be applied to process the rapidly increasing container flows in the Southern part of the port and the strengthened shore will ensure the stability of Smeltė peninsula shores while performing dredging works in Malku Bay.
